Single direction Spherical thrust bearings can carry axial load only in one direction, while double direction Spherical thrust bearings can carry in two directions. However, both the two types of Spherical thrust bearings can not carry radial load. Spherical thrust bearings should be preloaded in axial direction before operation. Spherical thrust bearings mainly apply to automotive steering devices, machine tool spindles, and rubber and plastic machineries, etc.
